Father Christmas

Winter Is Coming!

The first dusting of snow arrived yesterday, below is a stunning photograph of the  Ballymeanoch Standing Stones inspiring the Kilmartin Museum Winter images series.

The two alignments at Ballymeanoch are the most visible part of a concentration of ancient monuments in the immediate area.

If you are in the area you must visit Kilmartin Glen, the Kilmartin Museum Cafe is open until Dec 23rd this year, so you can warm up with some tasty soup and do some Christmas shopping while you are there!

If you cannot visit just yet you can enjoy the series of winter images Kilmartin Museum are sharing on their Facebook page.
Kilmartin Glen is one of Scotland’s richest prehistoric landscapes. With over 800 historic monuments, cairns, standing stones, stone circles and rock art dating back over 5000 years!

Just a couple of videos I made while playing with my phone walking the dogs, it’s still very rough out there so please be careful.
